The UAE Has Begun Construction of a New Water Pipeline from Egypt to the Gaza Strip
Under the project, a pipeline – stretching 6.7 km – will connect a desalination plant set up by the UAE on the Egyptian side to a displacement area between Khan Younis and Rafah governorates.
The water line is being built with the approval of the political echelon and is taking place in the shadow of international criticism of Israel • It will supply water to about 600,000 Gazans, who will be pumped into the Mawasi area • The project will begin operating in the coming weeks, and will operate regardless of the water lines flowing from Israel to Gaza

The United Arab Emirates is constructing a new water line from a desalination plant in Egypt to the Mawasi area, a humanitarian zone near Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. Recently, residents in the border area noticed trucks with pipes on them and attempted to understand their significance. It has now been revealed that this is an Emirate project to construct a water pipeline to Gaza. It is estimated that the water line will begin operating within a few days to a few weeks.
The water line is being built with the approval of the political echelon. The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories has approved the entry of equipment for the construction of the water line to Gaza, which is scheduled to begin today. The line will supply water to some 600,000 residents in the Gaza Strip. It will operate independently of the water lines flowing from Israel to Gaza.
As mentioned, the transfer of the equipment began today under supervision, and it is undergoing a meticulous security check. The entry of the equipment is carried out through the Kerem Shalom crossing.
